Frequently asked questions

Are skin clinics in Seomyeon safe?

All clinics listed are registered medical clinics with a licensed physician. Ask who performs your treatment, which devices or products are used, and whether a doctor is on site the whole time.

What is the difference between a skin clinic and a dermatologist?

A dermatology clinic (피부과의원) is led by a board-certified dermatologist. Other skin clinics are run by licensed doctors without that specialist certification and mainly offer cosmetic treatments.

Do I need an appointment?

Popular Seomyeon skin clinics are busy, especially on Saturdays. Booking a day or two ahead is safer; many take bookings by phone, KakaoTalk or Naver.

How do I pay?

Cosmetic treatments are self-pay. Ask the clinic which cards it accepts and request an itemised receipt.

Can I get a tax refund?

VAT refund rules for cosmetic procedures for foreign visitors have changed over time. Ask the clinic whether a refund currently applies and how to claim it.

Independent listing: Seomyeon.Clinic is not paid by or affiliated with the clinics listed. Information comes from Korea's public HIRA registry and may change; it does not replace a consultation with a licensed physician. In an emergency in Korea, call 119.
